I really love the bread they use; soft and fluffy to balance out the crispiness of the meat. It comes out relatively quick for the demand they have to meet: 15-20 minutes but I usually walk around anyways and order from other vendors. I've only ordered their pork tonkatsu sandwiches but I definitely want to try their chicken katsu and the egg salad sandwiches! Apparently the egg salad ones sell out fast so now I'm very intrigued....and for the prices, it's not too bad!
Thick-cut katsu with fluffy shokupan. Not cheap at $11/sandwich, but pretty delicious, especially when consumed fresh. Good balance of all the ingredients, including the katsu sauce and coleslaw.
Saw this place at the Kaka'ako farmers market and stopped by to try out their katsu sandwiches. First look was pretty unassuming but the first bite was amazing! The pork was nice and juicy and the flavors were perfectly balanced between the savory, sweet, and tangy notes. Will for sure get again the next time I visit the farmers market!
Thanks to Amanda and Felix Eats, we decided to try Katsu Sando 808 when we were at the Kaka’ako Farmers Market. We had the tankatsu sando and found it flavorful. The bread was very soft. A sandwich was definitely a meal for me.
It's been a long overdue visit to the Kakaako Farmers Market! WOW, wow, wow have things changed! It's huge, with a great variety of vendors! From clothing, to plants, to pet snacks and human food, it was amazing! I got the Takoyaki and the Original combo, and it was oishi! I asked for less mayo and sauce, and it was a perfect blend. Topped with bonito flakes and whatever else it was, I savored ever bite. It was served hot off the grill
