Maria Bonita - Honolulu

Unbelievable. This place was hidden on a side street in Chinatown, Honolulu. We were served by the owner of Acapulco. The sandwich is a Mexican tortta that is baked and grilled, and it has the best pork carnitas on it with fresh clantro, cheese, tomatoes and Mayo. It was so good. The salsa was spicy and as perfect as he becomes. The tacos with ground beef had mixed little potatoes, and also the beans of the chalupa. We get Mexican food everywhere we go, and we had it several times in Texas, but Tracy and I agreed this place would take the cake. She said the rice was the best she ever had. 5 highly recommended.

Omg. This place is so good. The taste is authentic and delicious!! Just like a Mexican Abuela cuisine, except that the owner here is Diego instead of Grandma! He said he cooks with his heart and it shows in his food. It's a small hole in the wall, but if we've gone into us, we can smell the food, so decided to give it a try as we drank! To our surprise is the next Mexican food we have!! The tacos are at home. Order everything fresh. So delicious. Very recommended. (Don't let the mess of the photo fool)

Mexican food is hard to find on this island, but this hole in the wall beats the SPOT!! Friendly and fast, they have some good food!

We have been looking for good, authentic Mexican food since we came to Oahu from the mainland, and we finally found it! Stopped in for lunch and split the California burrito with beans rice All I can say is that it was AMAZING steak perfectly cooked, food obviously made fresh homemade their refried beans are delicious, and that's probably the best Mexican rice I've ever had. We most certainly will be back to try more of the menu!!!
