No leftovers!Dishes servedArtichoke KaraageCapreseBolognese PastaTarako PastaPistachio PastaJoshu Wagyu StriploinLamb ScottaditoBread PuddingMy youngest (8 yrs) liked the Pistachio Pasta so much we ordered another.Family shared all dishes, which I would recommend. Best fine dining experience since the pandemic.Money well spent. My family were falling over each other thanking me for the experience.Kid-friendliness: Don't worry, host will help you find something just about any kid will like.
Located at Salt, they have a parking structure, so parking is not an issue. They have inside and outside seating which is nice. We did find the inside seating too noisy because of the speakers playing music, we can hardly make a conversation without raising our voice, so we end up moved to the outside seating area. The restaurant is not that old, so, it looks nice and trendy. Do do not have happy hour any more. We ordered the Spanish with taco salad, it was very good, the risotto was nice and rich, the pasta is Ok. They did add 2% special kitchen appreciation fee to our check without telling us. We found out after we leave. So, what happen if we do not want to pay the kitchen fee? I wish the owner could have explain to us when we sit down. What if later on they start adding a dishwasher fee, a whatever fee, I do not like this kind of hidden fee approach. Besides this, the food is good and I recommend this place base on their food quality.
I used to enjoy the food at Mariposa in Newman Marcus. One day the menu changed and the risotto was no longer on the menu. I inquired and learned that the head chef, Dell Valdez, left and started his own restaurant, so I followed him to Vein at Kakaako. Over the years, I've enjoyed a variety of his delicious creations. Needed to update my review to add my photos that didn't upload on the initial review. This place was awesome. The seating and ambiance was so modern. The staff was soooo friendly and very attentive. Gave great recommendations. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the risotto was ono! The steak was cooked to perfection. I cannot wait to go back!!
The dishes at Vein are well thought out, and executed in amazing fashion. The food is locally/farm-sourced, and you can taste the quality ingredients shining through. The staff is well-educated on the menu, and offer some great recommendations if you're stuck choosing between some delectable choices.Book a reservation, and take advantage of the outdoor seating on a nice breezy day!
