Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the Honolulu location. The portions are the same size as other locations, but when you charge $7 for Sui Mei and it only tastes average, then that really does not meet your expectations. All the food was okay, but for the price, I would have expected a lot more. I honestly would tell you tofind another Dim Sum place in Chinatown and you would get more value than coming here. However, if you just want to say you have been to a Tim Ho Wan, then it should be fine and expensive.
High prices, but they do offer a kamaaina discount. Authentic dim sum. I was a little worried when I saw the dark soy sauce, but everything was perfect and delicious. I had the sticky rice in lotus leaf, chicken feet, and spicy wonton. Service was friendly and helpful. Plus, it's almost impossible to find dim sum for dinner. I would definitely go again.
The most disgusting meal we have ever had. No flavor, blan, and ridiculously overpriced. The wait staff treated us like cattle in a sales yard. No public relations at all. Meal tasted mass produced from a distribution line.
The food here is really not for the hype. The environment was okay and the place looked really organized but the food wasn’t as I expected. To be real here, it didn’t even taste good, more so on the dumplings. Definitely should add some mustard sauce options , didn’t get that sadly. Service was moderately slow.
This was a life-changing experience with glutinous rice. It was so soft and tender, with a perfectly crispy fried exterior. The pork buns and the fried pork dumplings are like biting into a sweet meat-filled cloud. The siu mai and the egg custard sesame dessert balls are also phenomenal. I felt like I was about to become the parents from Spirited Away. Hubby and I came back twice during our trip.
