Via Gelato - Honolulu

During our 10-day vacation, my family of five visited this wonderful gelato place three times. We drove around the island searching for something refreshing, and after a few disappointing stops, we discovered this gem. The gelato is vegan-friendly, and we loved that the flavors change regularly—some of the ones we enjoyed on our first visit were different during our second visit. The staff is incredibly friendly, and we appreciated the soft music, which made it easy for all of us to hear our order. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Oahu!

I love the variety of gelato available here. There are always unique and exciting flavors to sample. This time, I tried the vegan caramel with honeycomb, and it was creamy and delicious!

When you think of gelato, Hawaii might not be the first place that comes to mind—most people would typically associate it with Italy, while others might consider it as an egg-free alternative to ice cream. And you'd be right to think that way. Via Gelato doesn’t attempt to create an elaborate narrative about an undiscovered gelato culture in Hawaii—because it simply doesn’t exist. Instead, they focus on producing some genuinely delicious gelato featuring locally inspired flavors that often leave you craving a second serving or prompt you to return within the same week. Very impressive!

The staff was very friendly and gelato was great. The butter beer was sweet with very soft soft flavors, also got a pint to go.
