My ARMY (BTS, not DOD) friends wanted some authentic Korean Food dishes and this place had several of them. We ordered the mixed meat, seafood pancake, raw beef on crispy bibimbap. ALL of it was absolutely delicious! The staff there are very nice and helpful. Our grill had a hard time getting going but unni figured out the problem and set it straight right away. I cannot wait to go back!
I have been coming here for years. The service has always been less than par and I know to expect that. Only reason why I kept coming back is the convenient location and parking. Food is pretty good but with pandemic they have really cut down on the banchans, and there is extra charge for lettuce wrap. They don't even give garlic with the meats anymore. For this reason I'm going to have to start looking for some place else to go.
I wanted to like this place since: a) it 's close to where I live (5 mins walking); b) I heard good reviews from personal friends; c) let 's just say it... the smell of Korean BBQ just evokes hunger. However, based on the service I received for a pick up order of bibimbap, I felt like my problems I encountered were not of any concern to the restaurant. It was a late Tuesday at work. I still had a night full of more work and felt like eating bibimbap. Korean food comfort food. I was about to call, but decided to go to their website to see if I could place an order online. At the time, their website had three options for pick up, one of which was Grubhub. I placed an order through Grubhub from work, thinking the timing would work out perfectly, such that I can go home and walk over to pickup the food. When I got to the resturant, the host/hostess looked at me comfused. I said I have a pick up order for Roger. The person walks over to the kitchen and asks outloud. They muble something. I can 't hear because the place is packed and people are eating away boisterously. The person comes back and says it 's a mistake and that Yakiniku Seoul does not use Grubhub. I show my email which clearly shows Ykiniky Seoul, my order of bibimbap, and my prepaid amount of $21. The person says again it 's a mistake, they don 't use Grubhub. I then asked who I justed paid if they don 't use Grubhub? The person just keeps saying it 's a mistake. I get the feeling I 'm not supposed to take up anymore time and I just defeatedly say ok.... and walk out the door without a fuss or argument, like the good citizen that I am... feeling like I just walked over for no reaon, other than to be told they don 't respect the Grubhub option on their website. While walking home, I finally get a notice from Grubhub telling me they encountered a problem and was forced to cancel my order, and issue a refund. OK sure I did not lose any money that day. However, when discovering my take out order was not valid, why didnt you: A) Offer to take my order right then and say Sorry about the mixup. We don 't know how you were able to place a take out order through Grubhub. Can we take your order now? It will just be 10 20 mins. I would have gladly said yes and paid a nice tip, but ... instead I got the speech of shame and walked out quietly. B) At least acknowdege that the order was placed through Grubhub and then say OK that 's weird you put an order through Grubhub. It looks legitimate but we dont have a record. We don 't know if you 're going to get a refund, but do you want to place an order now? C) A multitude of other alternative scenarios..... that doesn 't end in me quietly walking out of the restaurant with my wallet. I might try again IN PERSON...the food did smell good... but it will be a while before I feel comfortable and less ashamed to show up. I 'll defintely not order online again here....
One of our “go to” korean restaurants for the last 20+ years! excellent quality food. small hole in the wall atmosphere…
I 'm going to start off by saying, the meat quality was good. Probably the best tasting thus far around the area. We ordered the combination which included: two pieces of pork belly (which was very disappointing), ribeye (super juicy) steak, we opted out of the tongue. We made reservations for 7pm, there was maybe 5 other groups, We came with another couple that we usually eat out with and was sat where the heat permeated through... nonetheless the food made up for it. Disappointing part was that the server gave us an attitude which we felt was a little targeted. We asked for certain things and she replied with ok and walked away without ensuring she got the entirety of our inquiry. She continue to give us attitude which we shrugged off but the end of the meal, was where it went downhill... Yelpers, for those who don 't know: Tipping is not mandatory in the United States, so there are no laws that govern how much gratuity should be paid. That means it is generally up to you to decide how much of a tip to leave a server at a restaurant; even more so if you felt unsatisfied with the service that was presented to you. We were gracious enough to leave a 10 percent tip which we felt was more than sufficient given the circumstances. BUT upon us leaving, the waitress chased us and said and I quote: this is not enough . We felt uncomfortable having her broadcasting it to the whole restaurant so we decided to leave 5 percent more in which we replied: we leave enough according to the level of service and walked out. Yes the food is good but the service was subpar at best.
