Centrally located, in the middle of the stone old town, the golden eagle not only offers excellent regional cuisine, but also attractive and modern foreign rooms are ideal for those who travel with the bike. the local offers two rooms, so that despite a large room a cozy atmosphere is created. with warmer temperatures they can also remain in the beautiful outside area.
A medical visit today leads me to the picturesque town of Horb am Neckar, which has always been very clean, through a national garden show several years ago and through a new location of the Baden-Württemberg dual university, but has clearly gained its presence. Most of my culinary experiences are based on childhood and youth experiences – so there is something to discover again! The Golden Eagle is a recommendation of my aunt, who has worked in gastronomy even earlier. As natives report to me, the traditional house (with 600 years of history! a few years ago is burned down by a technical defect. The fact that it was rebuilt and restored tastefully and appealingly, I can convince myself today. With its high gable and friendly red shutters, it adapts very harmoniously to the architecture of Horber Downtown. On foot you reach the inn in a few minutes from the train station. When searching for a car park, you have to be something inventive – but this is not a problem today. Otherwise, you do well to use large car park on the street side. Since 1872 the golden eagle has been in the hands of the butcher family Bareis (not to change with the Baiersbronn gourmet temple Bareiss . The butcher's craft is still successfully reflected in the special design of the menu – be it with Sauren Nierle, Wildbret or an onion roast. In addition, the restaurant belongs to the Schmeck-den-Süd-Vereinigung and is certified there with two lions (they stand for regional raw materials and products . While only home love is created elsewhere, it seems to be really practiced here. It is absolutely necessary to try the must from its own, local cultivation (the patroness would like to explain the location of the sprouts, which should of course be ordered slightly cooled. 3 euros for a quarterliter and 3.50 euros for a half-liter mustschorle (in a beautiful glass carafe served are sensational cheap. A pleasant balance of fruitiness, light sweetness and bizzelling acid deceives that you can quickly have one in the tea after all-thinking enjoyment. For this, the Weinschorle vom Gutdel (3,00 Euro for the quarter seems somewhat too watery. Surprisingly the Trollinger with Lemberger (4.20 euros for the quarter). The Golden Eagle offers cheap changing lunch dishes of high quality. Unfortunately, you cannot see the current map on the Internet. We are amazed that the lunch table is also used today. Today's dish is truly grandiose for incredible 8.80 euros: a huge portion of Gulasch from the Maibock with ally, spicy sauce – with a rich, hearty roasted Buabaspitzle and a versatile little side salad. The decoration is used sparingly, but works by contrasts in orange and wine red: a physalis, two oranges, cranberries. Tastefully a poem, hardly to cope with from the crowd. Also great, but inexpensive in another category, as from the main card: the Rehbraten with Spätzle and Supplemental Salad for 17.90 Euro. The roast of a revelation, which is surely cooked for hours, can only be sucked up with plenty of supplements. The late zle are very obviously homemade, but some after seasoning with pepper and salt can be well tolerated. We are served friendly and courteous. Both ladies in the service, of course, carry a dirndl-like garment without having to work with it in a buzzing or folkloristic manner. There are not long waiting times here, but you are not asked every few minutes whether everything is okay (which is sometimes annoying to me). A credit card payment at the table is of course possible without problems. The restaurant has two guest rooms, with a table in the lower area. The interior is clearly structured, reduced, overloaded by nothing. On the wall a large city view of Horb and many etchings and miniatures. Small skylights offer views into the upper guest room. Large windows to the south point to a lovely garden and a beautiful terrace. The toilets are accessible by elevator. The inn also has 4 single and 12 double rooms. Surely very pleasant to stay here.
