Joe's Coney Island - Houghton Lake

Oh my gosh. For a coney place they have the best fish. Parking: They need more. Of course if they do that the place won't be big enough. So leave it as is

Our first time at Joe’s Coney Island and most certainly won’t be our last! ???? Everything about this visit was top notch, to say the least! My wife and I got the Lamb Gyro with fries which were delicious! The fries ? were fresh, crisp, and full of flavor! The lamb was tender and savor and pita was soft and fresh. Our daughter got the half order of the Nacho supreme and when asking her what did she think of her nachos for the review, she responded, “These nachos are BOMB ? AF!” Safe to say if you love nachos, “bomb AF” tells you it’s where it’s at! ???? And lastly the customer service for a carry out order was stellar! The lady at the counter was so nice, friendly, patient and understanding! She delivered us world class customer service and made our day and experience the cherry ? on top of this awesome Joe’s Coney Island experience!!! ??? If you are passing through or in the area enjoying the surrounding lake vibes, dry off and get your appetite ready for Joe’s Cont Island, you’ll leave here happy and full! A ??

When I brought the issues to our server’s attention, she seemed indifferent and ended up giving us a $60 bill! That’s right, $60 for an omelet, a wrap, two appetizers, and three drinks! To make matters worse, the bill she presented said $53 but ended up being more. This place has really gone downhill! I’ve eaten here for decades, and it was never like this. I knew Joe was no longer associated with the restaurant because he would never have allowed such poor quality, and when I inquired, the server mentioned that someone named Carla is the owner but was not available. Unless you want to be overcharged for subpar food and face additional charges you weren’t informed about, I recommend going elsewhere! We will absolutely never return! As a side note, the owner’s responses to other reviews about food and service quality show this isn’t an isolated incident. Instead of addressing the issues, they prefer to mock customers with snarky replies, insults, and distractions.

Visiting Michigan to see my mom at 1 of the first things I always have is a koegles hot dog. They were amazing and cooked perfectly
