During our two visits to Bodegas this past weekend, my wife and I had delightful experiences. On our first visit, she ordered the fish tacos, and I opted for the pulled pork and plantains dish. Both dishes were exceptional, and I particularly enjoyed the flavorful plantains and black beans. For our second visit, which was a lunch the next day, we shared a plate of nachos, generously portioned for two. The nachos offer a customizable experience, allowing you to choose your ingredients in a buffet-style manner. We selected cilantro-lime rice, black beans, chicken tinga, queso, and, of course, pico de gallo. And, of course, don't forget to indulge in a margarita while you're there!
I have only had the Taco Salad and the Nachos. Both were great.
Love the place. The food is great, and the bar is awesome! Something has to be said about the service, which is adequate at best. Usually obnoxious for no reason. I’m always very cordial. I’ve owned restaurants, so I’m always nice to restaurants crews. Always. Parking is terrible. You either park in a parking garage for an expensive price, or you find parking on the street and pay a meter. There’s also free parking close to the science museum. but it’s a far walk.
I love the atmosphere and the staff were very nice. There is a very high bar though for 5 star Tex-Mex food in Houston and I was a bit underwhelmed.
The food was fresh and tasty. Be careful with the jalapeños because they are . That’s how I knew everything was freshly made. The staff were helpful with placing my order but somewhat hard to understand. The esthetics was similar to a sports bar with the lighting and tvs. It’s a cozy spot with good food. It’s in the museum district so I was able to get parking right across the street from the restaurant. If you are doing a pick up order I would advise on trying to find street parking because you will pay regular price in the garage even if it’s a short time. The parking is tied to your vehicle license plate as soon as you enter the garage and is all digital through scanning a QR code or the app.
