We went on a Monday at 4:30 so we beat the dinner. There was only one other table when we were there. We wanted to sit down where we liked each other. First, the decor is great and very clean. I am one of those who looked at everything, and even the high lights had no signs of dust. Very impressed. There was also a nice bottle of EVOO on the table that I was surprised to see that most restaurants serve light olive oil, which is of course almost tasteless. The first person came with water in about 3 minutes and also brought bread. They are small, half moon loaves about 3 long. We all started on bread and the first thing we noticed is that it was not warm. Not a little. Then she tried to tear, which proved quite difficult. The bread is super dense, very hard and almost tasteless. The waiter came a few minutes (long enough that we had looked at the menus and decided what we wanted). We ordered and left him. I realized he didn't ask what we wanted for drinks. I ordered the Chicken Romano and Caesar Salat, my wife ordered the cheese ravioli, and my daughter ordered Tortellini Genovese. Neither the ravioli nor the tortellini come with a salad. The salad arrived quite fast, and I immediately noticed that it doesn't look like any caesar salad I had before, it was romaine salad, but the dressing just made the salad wet, not creamy as regular caesar dressing. It had crumbs and capers. The taste was good, kind of tasteless. No reference to anchovies. I only ate about half of it and gave up. The most important meals came within a few minutes. The Ravioli was hardly warm, the Tortellini was warmer, and the chicken Romano was hot. My wife said the taste of ravioli was good, but of course it would have been nicer if it were hot. The Tortellini was also good, but the filling was dry and the Alfredo sauce did not seem homemade. In my opinion, the Chicken Romano was very pale and should have been cooked for longer. The taste was as much as the spaghetti was served. The drinks were refilled in time. My wife asked for a pickup and the waiter asked if I wanted one (I had only eaten about half of my food). When I told him no, instead of asking if something was wrong with the food, he just went to get the container for my wife. Overall, for as beautiful as it seems and for the prices I would have expected better food. You don't even have fresh Parmesan cheese, just the Shaker species you would see in a pizza joint. We frequent the "big chain ' Italian restaurant frequently and to be honest, the food gives MUCH better.
It is a beautiful location. There are free parking for 2 hours. You can go there for dinner and have fun in the clubs. It's not so expensive and food is nice.
Nothing weave. The decor is beautiful, comfortable and ambience music. Aubergine Parm was $24. A little expensive.
This is an amazing restaurant. My family and I have come here for years and it's always a great experience every time we go. We love that a lot of food it homemade and fresh from their deli and market they have. I love recommending this place to others.
Here is a review from a Katy food critic, With honesty, The restaurant is a nice little place, And market, It's a bit small though and they leave storage boxes of drinks and stuff all over the place, Little unconventional, But it'bwas clean and had that Italian vibe, The waiter was excellent kind and served with a smile he was an older gentleman and I appreciated his service, Now the location is is okay, It's nice around there, Parking is a little hard but it's fine, Now for the FOOD! This was the issue it was bland, Not much flavor, No spice, The quality of the pasta is great, But the sauce on the chicken Alfredo was disappointing I had to put a bunch of Parmesan a touch of salt and a good amount of black pepper to give it some flavor, Chicken was dry not well seasoned, It was lacking in flavor and spices, The toasted ravioli was ok, The red sauce is has to much wine and very bitter, Not spicy at all I left without a hint or aste of garlic in my mouth, The Penne Chicken asparagus pasta was again bland and not flavorful also dry and lacked any kind of sauce or anything to it, I gave it back from the disappointment and me and my wife just settled on sharing the Alfredo, Now when they had a location in Cinco Ranch, Me and my family loved this restaurant the chief put love into the his dishes, The food needs to be more ITALIAN! bring the garlic and spices make it a little ? hot and spicy! Pizano!
