Down The Street - Houston

This restaurant has been my refuge through three years of ups and downs—breakups, family gatherings, celebrations, casual hangouts, and moments of renewal, all accompanied by their fantastic food. They even stayed open during the pandemic for takeout, which was a lifesaver when I couldn't go out. This place will always hold a special place in my heart, and the memories I've made here will last a lifetime.

I like the enterrior and the atmosphere. Also for the first time I enjoyed the temperature inside as it was not cold ? food is good not top notch but no complaints. And they were able to make virgin mojito for me so big thank you ?

Stopped by this hidden gem for a quick bite and some drinks and I am so glad we did! The specials were great! The food is amazing and the drinks are definitely worth the price! Brandon the bartender was the highlight of the visit! He made great suggestions and was very personable! All around we enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!

Between the group, we sampled every cocktail on the menu, and I can honestly say they were all fantastic! No complaints at all! The drinks were mixed perfectly; I dislike when cocktails have a strong alcohol taste, but these had a good strength without the harshness of liquor. The bartender even called me by name all night, which added a nice personal touch. The music selection was also excellent! They have a jukebox where you can pay to choose your own songs, but I didn't have to since the crowd was really lively. Just a heads up: arrive early because parking can be tricky! I got there around 4:45 PM on a Friday and managed to find a handicapped spot along with another available space. Since my car is small and equipped with a backup camera, I was able to park without any issues. I imagine the patio is a great spot to enjoy when the weather cools down, and it's also pet-friendly. While I was there, a guy brought in his adorable doodle without any problems. There are plenty of TVs around, too—perfect for catching the Astros game while you’re there!

The atmosphere is really nice, and they have some great specials. Their shrimp tacos are among the best I’ve ever had. That's actually the only taco I’d recommend, as I tried all of their taco offerings and only found the shrimp to be enjoyable. Perhaps my expectations for bar food are just a bit too high. I'm sure they have other tasty dishes as well. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you want to stay longer. I will definitely be returning!
