El Cuscatleco Cafeteria - Houston

I love this place. In the last 4 months I traveled once a month to Houston and this place is a must. Service is great, very friendly they check on your coffee every few minutes, the food very delicious. One thing I would ask from the owners is that they have the salsa bottles and the Curtido containers after each customer used it, except that big job boys.

Excellent experience! I absolutely love the rice bowl pupusas. The old-school diner atmosphere with the long bar is charming. The crowd is wonderful too. Just be prepared to wait a bit for your food, so patience is key when dining here.

I must say, this is the best pupusa spot! The food is absolutely delicious and truly reminds me of my roots. I highly recommend it!

Best Pupusas in town! Love the tamale de elote. Great mother and pop shop where you can feel like a regular - ready for a bit of a possible language barrier when ordering, but working on the fabulous menu and at the end of the day, no matter what you order, you just can't go wrong

This is my favorite pupusa spot in Alief. On Tuesdays, they offer $1 pupusas, but only for cheese or revuelta. The wait for food can be a bit long, but it’s about the same as any other pupuseria. After all, they make the food fresh! I absolutely love their curtido (coleslaw mix). The decor definitely could use an upgrade, but honestly, I’m not there for the ambiance—I just want to enjoy a good meal!
