Fuego's Saloon - Houston

Used to be a great afternoon/happy hour hangout until they chased away the day crowd by playing obnoxious club music at high volume during day/evening hours. Hint: happy hour crowd is there to have conversations with others without having to shout to beheard over the music. Derp. Service was hit and miss, but mostly decent. Nibbles were good. Atmosphere was once great thatis, until the owner decided he didn't need the afternoon crowd's business and started trying to attract the nightclubcrowd. And making all of those changes while a road construction project is already hurting your business? Head scratcher,there.

The atmosphere on Friday nights is fantastic, especially during Latin dance night. The bartenders are friendly, and the food, mostly bar fare, is quite tasty. However, one drawback is that the venue is open to the outside, which makes it quite warm on balmy nights. Although they have fans, they don't provide much relief when you're dancing and sweating on the floor. The dance floor is relatively small, but it features two separate sections, so you can typically find space to dance depending on the crowd size.

Waiting more than an hour and a half for food is a bit over the top. Seriously, don't order food here; they'll likely forget it even if you remind them, especially since the printer was broken—yet again! It was almost amusing; both bartenders, from the morning and evening shifts, seemed to be on a bit of a high. Just be cautious if you decide to go; it’s starting to feel like it might be a "Luke" situation soon.

I?ve been a long time patron but today they turned away my police K9 and service dog. She had papers and all the details of her service but the owner called on cell phone and said ?get that dog out of my bar? saying the COH won?t allow servicedogs. Called my lawyer a few minutes ago and he is livid! Apparently they aren?t aware of federal law! They will find outquick.

Great little club with a spacious patio. They offer bottle service and food. The bartenders are super friendly. The layout is really nice, and it's quite relaxed during the week.
