This is the first place, where the Mac and cheese inside is creamy! So good. The Caesar salad was a good portion, and pizza is great.. loaded with toppings. The Alfredo was okay- needed more flavor and it seemed like more of a jar sauce than a heavy cream base. Overall, loved it and would definitely come back when we are in town.
I’ve been a loyal fan of Luigi’s for a long time. It’s truly one of the best restaurants in Houston. If you’re a pizza lover, this is a must-visit spot. The chain has two locations, but this one has a more homey atmosphere, while the other is attached to a Biergarten. The staff are friendly, and we’re always amazed by the generous size of the pizza slices. We ordered the cheese pizza, and I really appreciate being able to taste each individual ingredient. The crust is crispy yet has a nice, chewy texture. The sauce is fresh and flavorful. I really love the emphasis on freshness here—it’s definitely a place where less is more!
The prices are reasonable, but the space is a bit cramped, and the food is just average. The staff are friendly and appear to enjoy their work, but the calzone was quite disappointing, as it was cooked inconsistently. Some parts were scalding hot while others were lukewarm. The meats had an unpleasantly mushy texture, possibly due to too much fat or oil. On a positive note, the gelato was enjoyable. They do offer dine-in options, but it seems that’s not their primary focus, as the interior is small and they don’t provide table service. While the pizza might be an improvement, the calzone definitely won’t lure me back.
This time, I ordered a slice of Margherita Pizza and a slice of Mushroom Pizza to eat in, along with a takeout order of lasagna for myself. Everything was fantastic—well-prepared, moist, and utterly delicious. The dishes brought back memories of dining at an excellent spot in NYC this past summer. Both pizzas had wonderful oven/coal-fired crusts. The quality of the cheese and sauce was impressive, with good balances between the two. The sauce was slightly runny and tangy, while the cheese was pleasantly oily. The Margherita pizza stood out as one of the best I've had down here, featuring a delightful blend of tomatoes, olive oil, basil, and acidity. The mushroom pizza was equally enjoyable, offering cheesy, earthy, and tangy flavors that complemented its distinctive taste. I was fortunate to finally get the lasagna, as it had run out during my previous two attempts to order it at another location. It was very tasty, showcasing a rich, creamy, savory, and slightly sour profile. The sauce was a delicious tomato cream that paired perfectly with tender ground beef and soft layers of pasta. It struck the right balance, not being overly salty or sweet. The service was excellent—friendly and welcoming, which made my meal all the more enjoyable, especially while watching an exciting NFCC game. It had been far too long since my last visit, and I am definitely looking forward to returning.
I hate writing this review as this used to be my go to pizza parkour. Ordered a large pepperoni. The pizza taste decent but there were piece with a single pepperoni. I think I had on the large 16 total piece of pepperoni. This used to be a great place and I hope this was a one time thing.
