Plonk! Beer Wine Bistro - Houston

Went here a week ago last Saturday for a glass of wine and light entrees. We sat on the patio and had a lovely glass of wine before our food. Unlike other places, the music was at a nice level and we could actually have a conversation. Our food was divine; my husband had the oysters, I had the crab cake and we split the cheese grits. All around an enjoyable evening which we will do again soon.

I brought everyone here for a birthday dinner and every single person said they wanted to come back to try more wine and more food. The staff is very friendly and were very accommodating for our group. They have a wide range of wine with varying prices so you can easily stay in budget but still try different wine that you might not see in the stores. The food might be the best thing about this place, every bite is unbelievably flavorful. This will be a staple in my eating out rotation!

This was our first time and we were not disappointed! We had: -Meat cheese charcuterie -French chardonnay -Argentinian Cabernay -Brava patatas -Duck small dish -La Chonona The service and food were great, and the atmosphere was excellent; we sat in the beautiful outdoor patio listening to the perfect playlist. After my friend highly recommended this place, we decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately, but it took quite a while for someone to come over and take our order. At one point, we even considered leaving altogether. Ultimately, the food turned out to be excellent, and the atmosphere on the patio was lovely. However, the service felt slow, lacking enthusiasm, and a bit forgetful throughout our visit, even though the staff was polite. Despite this, we'll definitely return since it’s a favorite date night spot for my husband and me.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant with friendly service. The noise level can get quite high depending on how busy it is. The portion sizes are generous. It's a great place to support local businesses!
