My friends were lucky and had the food fresh and hot and tasty on the last day of RenFest. The legs (of lamb) were so great, nice and tender with lots of meat. The kielbasa sausage and kraut and mustard were also excellent. Although I would have preferred grainy mustard over standard yellow stuff. Still, it was all ultra tasty. I want to go to the shop and try the bigos and pierogis. The owner and Desi and ALL the staff were wonderful. It made me miss my trip to Tychy long ago and want to return soon with my Polish friend. Dzięki wielkie! Romain
I am wondering if this restaurant will ever re-open. Does anyone know? It has been temporarily closed according to the website for a VERY long time.
I met a group of my yelp friends here for dinner. I personally had never tasted Polish food before. I did glance thru the menu before hand to get an idea about their different dishes and noticed an abundance of pork products. I did narrow my choice down prior to arriving at the restaurant, and went with a breaded chicken sandwich that came with a bag of chips and cabbage. I also ordered a chicken noodle soup. My sandwich was pretty good. There was enough meat (unlike subway Inc), and the red cabbage was delicious. I would recommend management to serve chips opened on the plate, rather than handing a Lay 's personal size bag. This makes It look too café . My chicken noodle soup was also very good. The broth was hot and the I liked the quantity of noodles inside the bowl that were garnished with either basil or parsley. We hung around for couple of hours. It did take some time to have our order processed and brought out to the table. The restaurant was full and there were only 2 servers attending all the tables plus the guy in the suit, which I 'm assuming was the owner of possible manager. Perhaps, that might be too overwhelming for 2 serves to fulfill an entire restaurant 's expectation. Nonetheless, they worked diligently. I do plan on visiting Polonia again.
I drove 30 minutes to buy polish food for my husband and it will be the last time I ever come. Rude. That is the one word to sum up the woman behind the deli counter. She saw me waiting but proceeded to ignore me until my Sister-in-law came up beside me. All of a sudden a girl can get some service, wow. So I go ahead and ask for more details about the different types of Kielbasa such as what is this one stuffed with etc. She ignores my question and just says it's all good. She repeatedly rolled her eyes at me and overall never really helps me. I ask her about the potato pancakes which she constantly pretends not to understand what I am talking about until my Sister-in-law asks the same question. All of a sudden she knows exactly where the mix for it is. I was told later that she is known not to like English speakers but that is no excuse for terrible customer service. Honestly, shame on you, and you are obviously in the wrong line of work. I hope your grandkids are interracial and only speak English. The reason why this isn't a one star is that the man who was working there was very pleasant.
Polish Food! Yum! Really pretty place to take your date that's located near the Spring Branch West/Memorial Area. The AMAZING combo meat platter $31.90] came with: Pierogis Cabbage Rolls Sausage Meat Loaf Baked Pork Chicken Legs This platter for 2 in my opinion could really feed 4 easily. Maybe because we also had an appetizer and complimentary basket of bread garlic butter. My favorite things were the Mushroom Saurkraut Pierogis, Baked Pork, Meat Loaf Cabbage Rolls. Oh yea, their garlic butter is phenomal! Everyone there was extremely friend and service was on point. This really is one of those hidden gems that I'm thankful we stumbled upon on yelp. Next door there is a Polish Food Store, which is stocked with traditional and authentic Polish products. I have yet to actually shop there but plan to soon!
