If you are reading this and considering trying this place, go now!! It will be closing soon. It is close to my house and it was late one night. I really did not feel like driving around finding somewhere who served a decent margarita. So i went TC. I was not excited about the food. But wow. I was so wrong. While I was eating I decided to order more, so at the register I realized that in this area you are only going to find true authentic mexican cooks to work the grill and oven. I met the chief cook and ordered more food. Try it before it is gone. You may not see another TC like this again.
I live 4 miles from this restaurant. This afternoon at 4:15 I visited it for the first time. It was also the last time. The place was filthy!!! I saw at least two flour tortillas on the floor between the serving area and the kitchen. Tables had not been cleaned and chairs hadn't been wiped. I ordered a large steak quesadilla and the person tried to charge me $3.49 for each of the salsas that come with it. They also didn't include the pico de gallo. The other order was for the Sampler plate. It was dry and tasteless. There are too many good Tex-Mex restaurants nearby to put up with this. I should have driven another 2 miles to Los Cucos or Torchy's.
The service for the night shift sucks. They have no manners at all. They don't offer you any sauce or pico. But if you ask for it they get all mad and bothered. They act like it's too much to ask for. And when they do give it to you. There is barely any sauce in it. But of course they take forever to bring you the sauce and food. I would understand that they take a long time when there is a lot of people. But we were the only ones in the line. I will make sure that I stay away from this taco cabana. I am starting to want to stay away from all of them since everything is getting so expensive
Could you folks stop deleting the business as a whole? I think this is the third time I may have reviewed this place. Set up on the corner of Tomball Parkway and Antoine, this Taco Cabana may be around 8 to 10 years of age but still does not show it on the inside except for the restrooms. It's always cold in here for some reason, in the summer it's a blessing, in the winter you'd think they were trying to sway you from eating inside. Personnel is a hit or a miss. If you do not like the personnel that are there, come back in about 3 to 6 months and usually there is a set of new staff. Parking is plenty but the neighborhood vigilante should be on semi high alert here. Food is decent, not the best, not the worst.
