The food is absolutely delicious! I had no idea what to expect, and I loved every moment of the experience. We sampled four empanadas, and I would have eaten more if I had the room. We tried the chicken and beef flavors, but I'm definitely curious about the pork and desserts. My only complaint is that I could have used a bit more sauce. It’s lively and a bit noisy, which adds to the fun atmosphere, and it's clearly a popular spot. This place is definitely worth a visit!
I love Argentine food because passion is the main ingredient in every dish. There is nothing better than seeing the owners and kitchens of Marcello and Pelusa Marini, who serve and support the chefs. Every empanada I tried was delicious. The Gaucho beef empanada is my favorite. I tried the Texan bbq, Hot Tia Maria and Chuck Wagon Brisket varieties and were all tasteful. For a healthy alternative, I recommend the whole wheat baked empanadas. My only constructive criticism is that they should reduce the menu size because too many decisions are somewhat overwhelming and difficult to decide.
If my friends are ever in Houston, I recommend this Argentine family restaurant. $40 tip got us a BIG sandwich, five empanadas, a small order of curly pommes and a carafe of Homeade Sangria.
An excellent surprise. I had the combination plate with a Hawaiian ChuChu and a Chicken Diablo. Came with a salad and dessert empanada. Happy, friendly staff too. Will be back when I'm ever back in Houston.
