Really wish this great venue was run by someone with a passion for service, atmosphere and cooking. Stiff prices and you feel unwelcome. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: kr 200–300 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
Was going to enjoy a beautiful autumn day, but in the cafe we were met with some of the least customer-friendly handling and service it is possible to experience. In what was supposed to be a cake counter, there was uncovered food swarming with black houseflies, uninviting. The staff appeared rather grumpy and without any form of eye contact when trying to order coffee. In addition, their selection was overpriced and the table was dirty and a lot of rubbish, Tip to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority!
Unfortunately is a pretty bad restaurant/café that is a great sweetness because the museum is beautiful and the location and view is great. it is quite overpriced, also for Norwegian (I am Norwegian, so I am used to our cafe and restaurant prices, compared to the not very impressive selection of food. my recipe to me summarizes what seems to be the setting of the place: a piece of apple cake for 70 kr (not unheard, but steep, and then an added 10 kr for a bit of whipped cream! When I was asked if I wanted cream, I thought it was included in the price. not that 10 kr is one or other kind, it is just a really terrible wise to make business. I sincerely hope that the people who lead the museum and restaurant will come together and find out how to improve this place, because there are not really other nearby alternatives to lunch, and the henie onstad art center is a beautiful place to visit in exactly other points.
Super coffee, sandwiches, cakes and lunches and very pleasant staff and rooms. the museum, restaurant and business are open. several beautiful walks near, or along the fjords to det norske veritas and continue høvik bootsclub.
