Good location, in the centre of the town. Perfect place for coming to grab a quick lunch because of their speedy service! Good value for money during lunch hours and definitely worth trying the dessert menu.. my favourite dessert in Hradec Králové.
We attended in a big family group. The service was fast and nice and did the best to accommodate us at the table and serve us. However the food was not as good as I expected for the price. There was a big portion of my lamb chops but it didn’t have any taste and it was served with over-salted green beans with a lot of bacon (which totally clashed the lamb chops). Soups were also too salty. Other meals were also nothing special for the high price. The decorations are rustic matching the historical building, only furniture is not that historical. All in all it was an average experience.
Quite nice restaurant but its a lot to improve. I was waiting a long time to be served. English menu is inadequate to Czech. Waitress did not know menu. The meals are tasty buy do not try steak or be ready to fight with it.
The good location and quite good food can not out-weight the terrible experience we made in this restaurant last night. It was 7:45 pm, we were just finishing our meals, while a Roma family with two kids walked in and looked for a table. My first comment to my friend was look what a nice family, I am so happy that some Roma are so nicely integrated. They apparently came from some kids event as their two daughters had some animal make up, really sweet and well behaved girls. In that moment the head waitress came to them and told them that the restaurant kitchen is closed for maintenance as a hygiene control will come tomorrow and that she cannot serve them any food. They looked really disappointed and as they chose a table next to us, we could hear the entire conversation. The Roma family was very polite even if somehow puzzled. Of course that not even 5 minutes later two other tables got filled and they were served normally. We complaint to our waitress who distanced herself from the management behaviour saying this was just a part time job for her. At least there is some hope in the young Czechs. I have to say that the guests who were not served were absolutely polite all the time and there was not a hint of any problem in the past. They were Roma and as it has been the case in some Czech restaurants that is enough of a reason for the management to pretend that the kitchen is closed. My recommendation is that if you do not want to support this immoral racist behaviour it is better to avoid this place. There are plenty of good restaurants in Hradec Králové.
