If you come from Germany you can cross the border on a ferry from Schöna to Hrensko. (DB ticket works on it) You can also experience the aftermath of wildfires last year.
What a beautiful place. Totally worth the effort and the entrance fee of 4 €. Food and drinks were also great. A big thank you to the owner of the restaurant for rescuing my phone from the edge of the cliff without excepting any money <3
The walk to the top was intense, but maybe that's because it was 33 degrees in full sun and we already walked and climbed for 10km before we started this specific trail. We parked our car at Na Hájenkách (Indiánská vesnička Rosehill) where there is a small free parking place. Then, we walked to Mezní Můstek and went right, to Divoká Soutěska and bought a ticket for the boat through the river, which took about 18 minutes. During the boat tour, the tour guide will explain things in a humorous way regarding the river area. Then we walked to Mezná, which is a rather intense continuous climb, and continued to Tři Prameny, the starting point for the trail to Pravčicka Brána. Its advisable to bring plenty of water in these temperatures and bring sun protection. Our total hike was 12km and took about 4 hours, including breaks. We consumed 2,5L of water each. When we got back the crossroad Tři Prameny, we took bus line 441 back to our parking spot in Na Hájenkách. To our surprise, the ride was for free!
Wonderful place, wonderful view. We loved it. The fire damage is very sad. Parking hyenas are running to you even before you stopped the car. They are rude, they don't speak any English, just demanding the ridiculously high amount for parking in the forest...
This is a very beautiful getaway from Prague Dresden. Not much visited, because there is very little information abou how to reach there etc. I drove to the base and looked for the shortest walk. My tip: drive to parking Soutěsky. This is almost the last parking before start of the trail. Try driving further and you may save another 500 mtrs. of walking if you find a parking spot on the one of the last parking. All parking have same price of Euro 8. Total walk from this parking is about 6 Km of which you walk about 2 Km along the highway as there are no parkings directly at the start of trail. . Walk is quiet easy and surrounded by beautiful terrain. Take plenty of water with you on a sunny day, there are no water streams on the way and you can only buy a refill at the destination. The area was under fire some years ago, so expect no shade. Plan a day, the place is really beautiful and the walking up alone takes easily about 2 Hrs or more unless you are fighting fit.
