Wonderful food, huge portions and great service. Local wine and beer to go with the amazing food. Service was great and we were treated with great curtesy. The local white asparagus was in season and we had a large portion of this on our plates.

There is nothing special in the presentation and the recipes are neither exceptional nor refined. Yet the generous portions and the way the food it's cooked along with the wine, adds up for a nice meal. The steak was good and the side dishes were generous.

When you are driving in this area you should plan a stop at that place. The quality of food served is really one of the best. The staff is most friendly. It is just a great experience there.

My parents lived across the street from this restaurant over 40 years ago and they suggested we try it. We stopped in for more nostalgic reasons and were pleasantly surprised by the decor, friendly staff and awesome food. We decided to go transitional with schnitzel and substituted the fries for spatzel, and were surprised with the amount of food that came. All of it was fresh and simply prepared we ate more than we usually do, but still didn’t feel like we overate! Glad to see it held up to its reputation after all of these years!

We have been in this restaurant on multiple occasions and the food as well as the service were always excellent. Especially in the asparagus season (around April to July) they serve by far the best local asparagus with a special self-made pancake that is simply delicious.
