Los Compadre's Mexican - Hugo

Los compadres is no longer in business. It's now a different Mexican restaurant. It hasn't been open for some time. I believe the new place is called el Kanelo. The new place is good but a little overpriced for our area.

Queso is AMAZING. Taco salad super greasy. Lunch specials 7 days a week, and at great prices. I liked the salsa but hubby thought it was to salty.

Not great, but it'll do in a pinch. Fajitas just ok, salsa tasted like it was from a can. Portion sizes were good though.

Just ok food and not great customer service. They are not very attentive. It is a small town, so it's not like they have to be ready for a big crowd, but we just didn't get much service and the server was on her cell phone the whole time she checked us out at the end. Not impressed, if you're craving good Mexican food and a good rest stop, this would not be my first suggestion.

The atmosphere is relatively clean, the customer service is good and the food I ate was good, but not what I would call Tex Mex style Mexican food... I had the steak fajita tacos that were more like stewed steak with stewed green peppers and onions... With flour tortillas... Again, they were good but weren't what I would call fajita tacos. It seemed like the spice was missing the all important chili powder and cumin. The chips were fine but the hot sauce was very salty. I also didn't taste any cilantro I'm the pico di Gallo. Just not what I expected
