This place exudes nostalgia and truck stop class. Perfect place to fill up your Western Star, your belly on a burger and meet the head honcho Leslie. No jake brakes please.
Must get pie! Lemon marange (sp? Pecan. Can't vouch for too much more of the food. People were really nice.
As small town diners go this one is a goodie, food is made to order and portions are generous. They'll keep your coffee cup full and an order of bacon is a heap. The restaurant is clean, the staff is Nebraska nice. You can buy embroidered towels next to the register what more could you want from your small town diner experience? I recommend pretty much anything on the breakfast menu and the chicken fried steak.
Have been eating here for years and the food is still great and the service excellent. Our favorite is the chicken heart basket which is wonderful. I could do without the big slice of buttered Texas toast but our 16 year old loves it. The homemade salad bar and fried chicken make this a great destination along US Highway 81 enjoy!
If you are looking for a good, small town diner, this is the place to go. It is connected with the gas station right off the highway in Humphrey, NE. The inside is nothing special, but the food makes up for it. My husband had the salad bar, and I couldn't stop snitching off his plate it was so good and fresh. The potato salad tastes homemade and hands down some of the best I have ever had. I ordered the Western burger with potato gems and my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. Our waitress was nice, and the food came out fast and hot. The burger was good and the potato gems were amazing! My husband's was also pretty good. The menu has everything from tacos, fried shrimp, burgers, and many more options. You won't be disappointed with all the options. I have been here a few other times, and it was equally as good. The food always comes out fresh and hot, with fresh ingredients. They also have homemade pies to choose from. However, I don't know how you have room. You get a lot of food for a very reasonable price. If you happen to be driving by, I would strongly suggest stopping here for some good ole home cooking. It has the vibe of a small town stop, so don't expect anything fancy, but come for the company and the food!
