Roasting Water - Huntington Beach

I arrived at 9:05 AM on a Monday. Although it was early, the staff informed me that they didn’t have any boba ready. I've never encountered a boba shop opening without any prepared boba. I placed my order and stepped outside to wait for my drink to limit potential COVID exposure. After waiting THIRTY MINUTES, I went back inside to check on my order—especially after noticing another customer, who had ordered after me, receiving their drink. To my surprise, I found my drink just sitting on the counter. It wasn’t busy at all, so I expected the worker could have at least come outside to inform me that my drink was ready. This felt like a lack of customer service to me. As for the drink itself, it was just okay, and I don’t see a reason to return.

I just realized I should leave a review for this place since I've been coming here every Friday for the past six months or so. When I first started visiting, I didn’t expect to become a regular; I was just looking for a coffee shop that was more affordable than Starbucks and served strong coffee. My favorite drink here is the Vietnamese coffee, but they also have excellent teas and other beverages. I really love the ambiance of the shop—it's super cute! Most importantly, I enjoy my weekly chats with Eric. He’s very personable, and since I’m a creature of habit, he practically knows my order by now, which I really appreciate. I also often get the caramel macchiato. If you’re in the area and looking for a great place to grab a drink, you should definitely check this place out!

I really miss this place, Roasting Water, from before COVID. Every time I visit, they either run out of boba or don’t have a specific ingredient for the drink I want. Despite that, it’s still a fantastic spot. Also, their hours on Google aren’t always accurate; sometimes they’re closed when they’re supposed to be open, and vice versa.

Their RW coffee with sea salt cream is so delicious!! Definitely a must try if you love coffee

Waited for almost 10 minutes inside (no one in front of us at the register but one lady waiting off to the side presumably waiting for her order) and no one came to the register to take our order or greet us. There was one guy running around in the back preparing orders but he didn't even acknowledge we were there waiting. We finally left because the wait was too long and it was really hot and stuffy inside the store. Surprised by the poor service, it's never been this way before
