During our first visit, I had the hot buttery lobster roll, and my wife enjoyed the fried clams. We were both surprised at how underrated this place seemed. Today, we went back to DJ's, and once again, the restaurant was relatively empty. However, we were confident that the food would be excellent. I ordered the lobster roll with a side of sweet potato fries, we shared the baked clams, and my wife absolutely loved her shrimp tacos. We make the journey for great food, and even though DJ's is over 20 miles away, it’s truly worth the trip. As we were leaving, we asked the staff why the restaurant wasn’t busier, except for another couple who joined in on our conversation about the fantastic food. I highly recommend visiting this delicious restaurant for your next meal!
I ordered the soup and sandwich, and it was incredibly delicious! The shrimp was sweet, and the buttery bread made for the perfect combination. If I had known how good the sandwich would be, I would have skipped the soup altogether. I sat outside on a lovely fall day, which added to the experience. My child didn’t bring any utensils or napkins, but overall, it was a fantastic meal!
My wife and I shared an order of clams with jalapeños, served in a flavorful spicy broth, as well as some Thai calamari. The calamari is one of my favorite non-traditional versions, and this was one of the best I've had—crispy yet tender. We also ordered coconut shrimp that came with a side of fries and a shrimp scampi roll. While they are well-known for their lobster rolls, don’t overlook the shrimp scampi roll—it's absolutely delicious! Additionally, I was excited to learn that they will be staying open on weekends this winter, which is a change from previous years when they closed.
The lobster roll was great- buttery roll, fresh lobster. The kungpow calamari was good- it's not really kungpow in the traditional sense, just sweet chili sauce over fried calamari. We sat outside and wiped the table ourselves because it was dirty, the inside was really nice though!
Fish and chips were the best I have had in a very long time. The fried pickles were full size. Very nice surprise! The coconut shrimp was also very good.
