Another little something really different. Honestly, I will say that in latter years this place has somewhat gone downhill or changed for the worse. It is an interesting piece of local history. 30 years ago the Huntsville square was like a preserved example of small town American life... they literally still had a soda fountain, a general store, live music sometimes in the gazebo/bandstand. And even though the town had under 2000 people, it was able to support a movie theater. Welllll the town got Walmarted. All the local businesses closed. The square became a ghost town. Only a couple businesses stayed open. Years later, the theater space was re-opened as a flea market. In the front lobby/ticket area, they eventually opened a coffee shop/sandwich shop that also sold desserts made by a local bakery. It was an interesting fun concept- pop in and order coffee and food then browse the market stalls while you waited on your order. Lately, the food options seem much more limited, and the flea market doesn't seem to be a thing anymore. It's still a good coffee shop, excellent coffee. It's become a great after school hangout for the local high school students. The last time I dropped by there, the owner mentioned there was some ideas of using the old theater area as event space again. Hopefully they'll do something with the space again and step up their food menu. If you're passing through the area, and wanting some coffee or similar, definitely drop in there instead of going to a gas station or fast food place.
