I have always been impressed with the food quality at this restaurant, but I was particularly impressed during a recent business function. The food was exceptional, with over 200 dishes served and each one accompanied by high-quality fresh and warm dressing. It can be hard to find venues with such high standards in the city, but this kitchen staff did an excellent job on this day. Well done!
The service at this restaurant was top-notch, from the receptionist to the waitstaff. The dining experience was efficient and enjoyable. There was ample street parking available. Overall, it was a great find and I was very satisfied with my visit.
I was regularly from this and many other rsl and RSA clubs in all Australia and New Zealand. I was recently at townsville rsl and the steak sandwich was coming with tweebel rings and chips and aioli. I said they had fled from the wobble rings so they would have only chips. when I asked to have another kind of dressing, I was told that it would cost extra. I said I just don't want to add it. that does not play a role, that is more work for the kitchen. then I went to order a drink, I asked for a dose koks, no sugar and a glass egg, we only have koks. I asked if they had any other doses without sugar and was told that it was exactly the same koks it comes from a large container than a long time chef and club manager, told by employees who don't even look old enough to be in a club what I get when they don't have a clue is quite out of the putten. the townsville rsl, their restaurant and caffe and all the staff were the best in Australia. now it is not better to run pub and the personal is a embarrassment to the RSL name.
It’s been awhile since I last ventured here and boy what an exceptional experience. I arrived needing to renew my membership, ladies on front desk where very polite and professional. As I walked in they had escalators that lead upstairs to their new gaming lounge...which makes sense that they moved it upstairs, this venue has flooded out twice to my knowledge. Lavaracks is no more, a little disappointed although the friendly staff ensured me the restaurant downstairs has incorporated the menu for everyone’s budget. So after getting a nice frothy still cheaper than anywhere else (bonus). I headed downstairs first to the big screen area. I swear this is the biggest tv in any establishment in Townsville, just a shame this area looks still to be under construction. Toilets especially having to walk so far away. The venue looked to have a members draw on tonight $29.5k wowzers, and it went off! Amazing. Now to the restaurant, just my luck a new menu. Quick look through an the kids option was Tin Lids lol showing my age here, the great kids band before the wiggles shot to fame. How classic and original for a menu name. The menu looked basic but obviously due to covid still plentiful of options and the staff member was right it did incorporate prices to everyone’s budget, so I ordered the Yardstick eye fillet Mignon with chips and salad. Cooked to perfection the chips weren’t bad the salad fresh however the dressing may need looking at. The wait time was reasonable I walked in there during what appeared the busiest time but still got my meal within 30 mins. All in all a great experience, have to come back on Sunday for their Sunday draws, I want a meat tray.
