The Abbey Friar - Hyndburn

Have eaten from here a handful of times over past two years. This evening (31-Oct-2023) fish is pretty lousy. Doesn’t taste like either Cod or Haddock; it is cooked ok, just the flavour is not good Will try somewhere else next time

I rang them order 2 fish and one portion of chips to be picked up in ten minutes. I was told no problem. When I went in there were a few fish in the warming cabinet but the assistant sold them all to people in the shop. When I said I ordered two fish she told me it would be a few minutes as they had to fry some more I won't go there again for a while ,

I read the reviews on this chip shop and thought i would give it a try sorry but what a mistake that was my dab was very greasy my fish was soggy and the chips i couldnt eat the sausage was fine.my son didnt eat his fish either his was soggy my friend had steak pudding and chips his was ok.i am now going tesco for a meal deal sorry but was not worth the money.

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Cooked while you wait. They were delicious and excellent value. Staff great as well.

Fantastic fish n chips, made fresh took 15 minutes but fish was best I've had in ages. Parking a nightmare tho. £15 for X2 portions. Bargain
