Ze Do Pipo now has a new owner and chef and reports are it is not as good large menu, inexperienced kitchen team and very slow service. The menu seems to have slipped from a more adventurous international continental menu to a safer, more traditional Portuguese menu. Watch this space......
Brazilian chef who knows how to cook. Un-presupposing facade looks like a truck stop but inside, the rear restaurant is quite classy. Great small menu based around steak and pork and there's also decent roasted codfish bacalhau). Really good local wine with Quinta dos Termos reserva being the star. Great food and very reasonably priced. Next to Helena, about the best restaurant there is in Idanha. The Portuguese don't generally make a good job of cooking steak they tend to overcook it) but this place is an exception, with its strong continental influence.
