I had the faggot that was not very hot and went very quickly cold as the plates were not warm. it was served with what I can only describe as cold potato skins. my wife had a pasta that was served with two dirty looking garnels. our order was two main thing, two glasses wein and a small bottle of water. that came to 50 €. much too expensive.
This was a great place to have dinner in. Everything was delicious, from appetizers to dessert. The sangria was to die for. The waiters are the nicest as well!! Will be back when traveling again to Aljezur.
It used to be a great place for Italian cuisine. now it's a kind of disco bar in the middle of the national park. I liked this place often. Now I prefer arte bianca for Italian eating.
My wife and I had eaten at the old Gulli at least 20 times and we were VERY disappointed by the food, service, and ambience and we will NEVER return. First, they turned the entire restaurant into a corny 'chill out ' zone and we had...to listen to throbbing dance music for the 2 1/2 hours we were at the restaurant. Second, it took over two hours for them to deliver us our food and they NEVER apologized nor offered us a free dessert or any compensation whatsoever. Third, if you don 't get an actual table you will be eating on old wooden benches with your plate a good meter away from your mouth. Fourth, our food was cold and was no where near as good as they used to serve. We saw another family that has lived in Aljezur for 20 years and they were even more disappointed than we were. Our advice is don 't fix something that is not broken as we are quite certain that this will not be the #1 restaurant in Aljezur for long.
In front of the pandemic hat was gulli bistrot our absolute favorite restaurant and always on our list when they go to the west coast, but now everything is different. they kept the name and the very good reviews he had previously received, but changed the whole experience. for the customers. it was disappointing because the staff was not friendly or friendly and it seemed like we didn't have it worth getting a good service because we didn't order much. eating was not very warm and dessert tasted very busy and is not worth it at all. Beyond that, our waitress has completely changed her face when we have not left a tip. they never expect a tip because it is my decision on the basis of eating and their service.
