Be prepared to come hungry when you order this! The dish consists of a bed of tater tots topped with two beef patties, two over-easy eggs, and a split sausage on either side of the plate, all smothered in their homemade chili. It’s garnished with shredded cheddar cheese and jalapeños, making it quite the indulgent meal. After lunch, I enjoyed a blackberry lemonade shot with the bartender, who encouraged me to sign up for their rewards program—which I happily did! I was surprised to learn that this restaurant is owned by the Gianino family, known for places like Bill Gianino's, Frankie G's, Joey B's, and Billy G's. I don't know much about the other locations, but I recently had pizza at Frankie Gianino's, and it was just alright. I've also experienced some chaos while drinking at Joey B's, but whatever system they have going at Scotty's is definitely on another level. Although it can be a bit pricey, I will definitely return for the great pub food and hope to be served by that wonderful bartender again!
My last visit to Scottie's was about a year ago, and I must say I'm shocked by the change! This once charming neighborhood pub has turned into a disappointing establishment. The food and drink offerings now feel like a poorly maintained ashtray compared to what they used to be. While the food was never exceptional, it was decent enough to enjoy. However, now the portions are excessively large, and the quality has really declined.
Save your time and money. This was my second visit to Scottie's, and I left even more disappointed than the first time—perhaps more disappointed in myself for returning. This time, I stopped in for lunch and a couple of beers, and I ordered the BBQ pork nachos. The BBQ pork tasted like something from the supermarket—very bland and reminiscent of bottled BBQ sauce. The cheese they used was completely flavorless. It was so dull that it was almost unpleasant to eat. I had visited once before for dinner, and that experience was equally disheartening. I don't mind loud music in a bar, but it's not ideal while trying to have dinner and engage in conversation. Once again, the food was uninspired and tasteless, and I couldn’t wait to leave.
Stopped in here for lunch on a Friday. Service was fast, food was tasty. I had a French dip sandwich with fries. Great thinly sliced roast beef and the au jus was good also. Fries perfectly seasoned. No extra salt needed. My only complaint was that my cup they gave me was sticky. It had some sort of stickiness on it on the sides. So my hands kept getting sticky. Nothing that was that big of a deal but I would have given 5 stars if not for it.
I've been here several times, and I must say the food has always been really good. Quality is good, great variety, and the flavors are on point. With that said, wait time has been horrendous and grows worse with each visit. I don't want to group this in with service though, because our servers and bartenders have always been very friendly and welcoming. But the wait time for the food was beyond anything I have ever experienced in a restaurant. If you receive your food in an hour, it's a good day there from what I can tell. If you aren't in a hurry, check it out. If you need to be anywhere even remotely close to the time you are dropping by (within 2 hours), then pass this place by.
