I returned at 1:35 PM and got the same uninterested attitude when I gave my name for pickup. Once we got back to our place on the beach and checked the food, I noticed that many items were incorrect. Some things were missing entirely, and we didn’t receive the coleslaw that was supposed to be with the burgers. When I called to speak with the manager, the staff member who answered said he was unavailable and suggested I leave a message. Throughout the conversation, I was told they were busy, which led to mistakes. I could come back to have the order corrected, but I would have to wait. There wasn’t even an apology until I brought it up myself. It’s disappointing because I want to believe that people in the service industry care about improving their service. Despite the errors, the food itself is good, and this restaurant could be a great place for families. However, the service needs significant improvement before I’d recommend it to anyone.
I wasn't impressed. I ordered the TJ-Jimbo-dog with fries, and while it was decent, it didn’t have much flavor; just enough to be passable. The hotdogs at Mission Beach are far superior! The service was affordable, but it was neither great nor poor. I don't think I'll be returning.
I have a deep appreciation for both traditional and creative hotdogs. D.G. takes the classic “Mexican” bacon-wrapped hotdog and elevates it with beloved Mexican ingredients like carne asada and carnitas, all topped with a unique blend of sauces on a pretzel-like bun. They achieve the perfect balance of toppings, ensuring that the hotdog’s flavor shines through—unlike another Mexican hotdog stand I’ve tried here in San Diego. This cozy little spot has a wonderfully friendly staff, and I highly recommend it to any hotdog enthusiast!
Not really a fan of hotdogs unless they are like this. Bread was soft, hot dogs were flavorful and juicy and the toppings took me back to a certain time in Mexico I had. All I can say is damn they were good.
