Though the kitchen was formally closed, the staff filled our request for a snack as we had not eaten lunch. They prepared a beautiful array of cheeses, jamon, olives and pa amb tomaquat! Our dinner on the terrace was delightful. The open grill fire used to roast meats and fish gave a lovely hearth smell on a full moon night on the beautiful terrace. We enjoyed roasted local fish caught in the area, octopus done on the grill, and a delicious tarte tatin!
We booked for 15th August, and as evening fell, it rained and rained, so we had to eat in the old nun's refectory inside, rather than in the lovely garden, which was okay, it's an interesting room. a tray of all the fresh fish to choose from (to be barbecued in the rain) was brought to our table, nice starters, great wine, loved the fish, thought it was one of best places we have eaten in 6 years visiting the area, pricey but very good quality. so we booked to go back on our last evening, and guess what it rained again! the waiter remembered us, and said don't come back again, you're making it rain. it must be nice to eat outside here, but it has to be good if we enjoyed the food indoors in August.
Loved everything about this restaurant and setting, super meal, good choice menu especially fresh fish. Service very good. Restaurant used to be a monastery lots of visible signs and very tranquil setting.
