Mugs-up Root Beer - Independence

I CANT BELIEVE IT! this place is an institution and has been here forever and I am just now reviewing it SHAME ON ME and I really mean that what a GREAT TINY PLACE I go here OFTEN totally unique burger loose meat not a patty so delicious the root beer IS THEIRS don't expect a can of barqs or that a&w head that's not their style this is ORIGINAL ROOT BEER FROSTY MUG is option but I prefer THE GALLON JUG the syrup sugar rush should probably have a diabetic warning label IT IS FANTASTIC and IT IS PERFECT FOR FLOATS TOO very good food and service. Throw back to the 1950's just a wonderful experience everybody should try

The zip burger might be the worst thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Absolute garbage.

Pulled up 5 minutes before close. When the car hop showed up at 8:03 she said sorry we are closed, I can still get you drink.Still love the place but felt the ownwership needed to see this review. Been im the hospitality buisness for 20 years. You take customers up until close. Not wait until after close to greet them, then tell them they cant order.

I love it because it's different from all the rest of day to day eating. Not expensive and friendly its a welcomed place to drive in and eat in car or get it to go. I cannot do it a lot but when a change is needed or that something different feeling, take the family here and you'll be surprised at what's available.
