Steel City Samiches Grille - Indiana

We were in the area and we were hungry. This was the first time that we have been in Indiana well at least since I was a teenager so we didn't know where to go for food. Yelp led us to here and I'm glad it did. It was a warm day and we found meter parking right outside the restaurant. We saw that they had some outdoor seating so we asked to seat outside. It was getting cloudy out and it started to rain so we had to move inside. Too bad because it was nice outside. Their beer selection wasn't that great on this day. The first two beers that we ordered on their menu were out. Our waitress wasn't too sure what they had. I ended up just ordering a IC Lite. Looking over the menu the burgers looked good. I went with the Twisted Pig Burger with fries. The Women's World Cup was on so we were watching that as we waited for our food. The place is a good hangout I think. It's a college town and I'm sure it's really hopping in here on the weekends and nights. Our food came out and my burger looked great. The fries had their special seasoning with a touch of cinnamon and it was one of the best seasonings on fries I have ever tasted. My burger was very memorable too. Its a burger with pulled pork, spirit hickory whisky bbq sauce, provolone, and cinnamon sugared bacon. It was really good. Overall we had a good experience here and if we are back in town I would come back and get the same thing. The beer this day was average because they were out but we had a good time still.

Attempted the 3 samich challenge. Never go through indiana so wanted to try the specialty ones rather than have a better chance of winning the challenge. The sandwiches were more thoughtfully crafted than primantis. The tip steak and cajun chicken ones were amazing. The corned beef and pastrami was right up there. The staff and owner were all beyond friendly and sociable. Id come back to iup just for this place! It will be on man v food in a few weeks they said...

How delicious!!! I 'm not familiar with samiches , but they 're just loaded with yummy-ness! I got one with corned beef and was super satisfied. This place was really casual and relaxed, a great setting to enjoy lunch with a friend. I 'd definitely recommend. Professional staff, reasonable prices, delicious food. All boxes checked!!

When will you be opening Pig Iron in Indiana, PA? Will you be reopening after being closed due to COVID? The business used to have a different name, but it was renamed Pig Iron during the pandemic and has never reopened since.

How bad can a salad get? I didn't know until today. Ordered a grilled chicken salad and paid .50 extra to have my grilled chicken tossed in mild wing sauce. There were about 6 very small pieces of dried up chicken on the salad plus the chicken tasted old. I didn't notice much wing sauce on the chicken. I ordered ranch with my salad and over all it was just flavorless. I had to add salt which i never do. Service wasn't great. We got served our appetizer with no napkins or silver ware. Never got asked for a drink refill. The place wasn't overly busy. I take i to account it's a sandwich place so maybe the sandwiches are better but even then I'd rather go to a primantis :
