Mother's Table Pancake House

This is a fantastic spot for breakfast or brunch if you're on the west side of Indianapolis or near the airport. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive to all our needs. You can simply walk in and choose a seat anywhere you like. I particularly enjoyed looking through the menu—it's extensive and filled with vibrant pictures, making it easy to read but tough to choose just one item because everything looks so delicious! The food was freshly prepared, and my favorites included the piping hot coffee (definitely hotter than other places), the crepes, and the French toast. The only area I think could use some improvement is the interior design, as it feels a bit outdated. Other than that, the food and service were outstanding!

The extensive menu features classic American breakfast and lunch options, ensuring there’s something to please every palate.

The head waitress was extremely rude. As soon as we entered, we overheard her telling a new staff member that she was doing everything she could to avoid yelling at her. Our food took a while to arrive, which we could overlook, but the kitchen assistant had placed multiple orders on the same tray, leading to confusion. This same waitress berated him in front of us, calling him stupid. When he pointed out one skillet as the veggie dish, she snapped back, insisting it was meat and questioning if he even knew what meat looked like. Her behavior was very unprofessional and unnecessarily harsh. I honestly hope that the new staff member leaves and leaves her to manage on her own. Additionally, the restaurant was quite dirty, and I didn’t feel comfortable eating the cut fruit. Overall, it was a disappointing stop on our nine-hour road trip.

My son and I were in town for a youth bowling tournament and we had breakfast here every day of that week. Alice is the best server, she’s out there working the hustle and cares about her customers. I love a good townie diner and this place is great.
