Napolese Artisanal Pizzeria

I've heard a lot about Napolese, but I finally had the chance to visit last week. Located in downtown Indianapolis, right by the circle, Napolese has a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a hotel dining room. Though the restaurant isn't very large, it features an open layout with plenty of windows that create a bright ambiance. I went with a friend, and we both decided to try some drinks. She ordered the Rum the Jewels, while I opted for a glass of Chardonnay. Our server was very knowledgeable and provided us with detailed information about the drink selections. For our meal, we shared two pizzas: hers had potatoes, and mine was a classic margherita. Both pizzas were delicious and satisfying. I'm definitely looking forward to returning on a warmer day!

For those looking for a light and refreshing drink, I highly recommend the Hugo's Boss cocktail—it features lemon purée, vodka, Prosecco, and mint. While the service was a bit slow, our waiter was friendly and patient, especially considering our party of eight. Overall, I strongly recommend visiting any of their locations around Indianapolis for some excellent quality pizza!

Now, let's talk about the craft pizza—it's unique enough to impress but familiar enough to have you craving it on a weekly basis. The creativity strikes a great balance, pleasing both my foodie and non-foodie friends. I personally love the classic margherita. And don't skip dessert! The Olive Oil Cake and Affogato di Gelato are must-tries. The Olive Oil Cake was incredibly moist, and the affogato—espresso poured over gelato—was presented in a really cool way. It was perfect for sharing with our group after our big meal, as we all enjoyed a few bites and left feeling satisfied. A big thank you to Napolese! I can't wait to return.

Upon searching for restaurants downtown recently that aren't chains or steakhouses, we stumbled upon Napolese. Is this my favorite pizza in the city? Nope. Is this a good alternative to many of the other restaurants downtown? Yeah. Every time I've been here, I haven't had a pizza that I didn't like. Last night, I had the Boz's Pie pizza with sweet potatoes, goat cheese, brussels sprouts, and other cheeses. It was delicious. I've also had a variety of other vegetarian friendly pizzas and they haven't disappointed. If you're looking for a light pizza that isn't overly filling and doesn't make you feel like you consumed nothing but oils and fats, this pizza is for you. If you're looking for the delicious, cheesy, filling pizza that most Americans love, look elsewhere as you won't find that here. Good alternative to other restaurants in the downtown area, but not my go-to restaurant by any means.

I think Napolese offers THE best salads in the Midwest inspired by seasonal fresh healthy ingredients!!!! We took the extended family for dinner last week. We made reservations for 7 people and we received four reminders by phone and email, so we did not forget. The restaurant is upscale and not crowded on Friday night. I thought the chairs were uncomfortable but the food was so good that I quickly forgot about the chairs. Our 5 star server, Hunter, recommended salads and . We ordered the Carrot Sweet Potato Salad $13) the Vegetarian Chopped Salad $11) and the Arugula Parm Salad $11). It was great to see something other than romaine and croutons. All salads, artistically created, were unbelievingly fresh and tasty. We savored every bite of the generous servings. The salads were 5 star. For pizzas, we tried the BLT $15) the Smoked Salmon Pie $17) and Hamaker's Corner Pizza $15). The pizzas were interesting and 4 star, very good. I liked the BLT the best with goose jowl bacon, leeks and an Italian cheese. This pie quickly disappeared. The $80 bill was a bargain for feeding our group of seven. We went home with an entire pie worth of leftovers. I recommend for a great casual meal downtown with artistic fresh ingredients.
