Steak 'n Shake - Indianapolis

This is consistently the best Steak n' Shake I have ever been to. I live in the apartments right next to it and I have eaten here many times. The staff is always friendly and they bring out your food and shakes super fast! It is never busy which is always surprising to me.

Still great. Best values for quality food period. I don't know how they do it, to tell you the truth. I usually go with my daughter, and our bill is usually under $15.00. for both! I like the burgers, the Patty is smashed flat and crispy on the edges. Those skinny little fries are addictive, and the chocolate milkshakes are a requirement. So good! I would give them 5 stars, but it's usually spotty on the service and cleanliness of the place. Not because it is not clean, but because it's usually messy from a rush and there are never enough folks on duty to keep up.

Although the chances of you having a negative experience at Steak 'n Shake are somewhat high, this location has yet to leave me wanting very much. I enjoy going to this location late night/early morning, and always have a large order for carryout. The women who is responsible for third shift is underrated and knows her job very well, plus she does the cooks job better than most. She deserves a raise, and an attractive tip on every transaction as far as I can tell, because she has to do it all by herself a lot of times. Cheers to third shift S 'nS!!!!

Overall, the drive thru service was decent and our shakes weren’t melty or anything like that. It definitely took a little longer than I would expect it to be, but I really don’t have many complaints. I guess if you put in perspective the number of cars in front of us, they did a decent job keeping the line moving.
