Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing from start to finish. Despite making a reservation, we were not given the table we requested upon arriving on time. The lack of a proper wine list was also frustrating, with only red or white wine available by the glass. The white wine we ordered was disappointing, and we were even shorted on our order. The Caesar salad we shared was lackluster, and the lobster fettuccine, while tasty, was lacking in lobster and had a rustic appearance. Service was slow, with a nearby table choosing to leave before their mains arrived. Despite available tables, many people were turned away at the door. After struggling to get our bill, we paid at the door and received a half-hearted inquiry about our meal. Overall, we were unimpressed and will not be returning to this restaurant.
I ended up at this restaurant because all my other options were closed. I ordered mussels and a Caesar Salad. The mussels were excellent, but the salad had been dressed for too long, resulting in limp lettuce and soggy croutons. The flavor was still good, though. When I mentioned this to the staff, they gave us a complimentary piece of cheesecake, which was delicious, but I would have preferred if they had comped the salad instead. My partner's chowder was also very good.
Despite lack of air conditioning on one of the hottest days of our trip, the food was very worth it,
This restaurant is too expensive. The food was served cold, including frozen mashed potatoes and cold vegetables. The Clam Chowder tasted like it came from a can and did not have the mussels as advertised on the menu. I was very disappointed considering how much we paid.
