It was 6pm on a Saturday night and they were going to close, then we walked in. Not in a million years would i ever try to pass off fish rings for calamari, or serve bruschetta untoasted. I must have been at the wrong place or Chef had a night off. We couldn't eat either and decided to leave. When i went into speak with the owner (dad) to let him know we will try again in season, he was nice, but then i was face to face with a very large spit spewing yelling son from the kitchen. I mean top of his lungs yelling about calamari. He obviously did not want to be there cooking for anyone. Because the father looked like a hardworking man (who is hopefully the real chef people review positively about) we will try again in season, but the sons behavior and audacity to think people are that stupid to believe that was calamari, kills me.
We loved eating at Enrico's. The food was delicious and the service was very good. We had salad, meatballs and shrimp and scallops on pasta. We are going back at least once a month now.
Best Italian food in Citrus County...and it's not even close. Great authentic dishes, generous portions, and fair prices. If you are looking for great Italian food in Inverness, Enrico's is a must.
I might have been stingy with my stars partially because I normally don't seek out Italian restaurants. It seems to me that pasta dishes are so easy to make at home, so why go out for them. That said, Enrico's has some more complicated dishes that I would be less likely to make at home. From my experience, it seemed like good, authentic Italian cuisine. They started us off with a head of roasted garlic/olive oil and some really great bread: crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside. My daughter had the egg plant parmesan which was excellent. I had the pasta topped with various shellfish. It was also very good. The highlight for me was the ice cream dessert. The place doesn't look like much from the outside. Don't blink or you might drive past it! The inside has gitchy, fun, interesting Italian decor. Our waiter, Lee, was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place for those of you who love Italian food.
Such a real world Italian Ristorante!!! Enrico and staff were wonderful!!! Even though we were late, they welcomed us like family! The food was really good!!!
