Breadgarden - Iowa City

This market is quite impressive! When I visited on a Saturday, they were offering wine tastings. There’s a fantastic selection of salads, sandwiches, and made-to-order treats. What stood out to me the most was their incredible bread. I chose the jalapeño cheddar bread, and it was absolutely delicious! They even have a bread slicer, where the staff—who are extremely helpful—assist you in slicing and packaging it. The bread was only $5, which is a fantastic deal considering the quality and the slicing service. I love how thin they slice it; it tastes amazing right out of the toaster. Honestly, it’s so good that you don’t even need to add anything to it!

This is a wonderful place that blends the atmosphere of a café, bakery, and gourmet grocery store. While staying at the hotel next door, I had a daily food and beverage credit at Bread Garden Market. Each morning, I treated myself to a spicy ginger chai latte and a breakfast scramble, both of which were absolutely delicious. The breakfast was not only flavorful but also healthy and fulfilling. They offer gelato and a range of delectable baked goods, along with fresh produce and packaged items. It's a perfect location to grab snacks for a road trip, stock up on household essentials, or enjoy a hot meal.

The pastries are delicious, and the customer service is outstanding right in the center of Iowa City! I tried the cheese Danish, and it was amazing.

I visited today for a coffee and to share an iced sprinkle donut with my youngest daughter. We found a charming table on the patio and enjoyed the lovely morning view.

The restaurant boasts an impressive variety of pastries and a nice assortment of grocery items. Their fresh-squeezed lemonade is outstanding! It’s an ideal place to stop for a quick meal while wandering around downtown.
