Wildwood Smokehouse Saloon - Iowa City

What a nice find! had some burnt ends which were very good and their beans were spectacular. The service was helpful and refreshing and the atmosphere inside was really cool. It reminded me of that movie made last year with Bruce Springsteen (Western Stars . Awesome Barn type interior with a big stage set up with sound equipment etc and the dining room looks as though it converts into a dance floor it looks really cool : !

This place was incredible. My wife and I are beginning a series of visits to multiple BBQ restaurants across the country beginning with Illinois and Iowa, and this was our 2nd stop on the way back from Des Moines. Incredibly friendly staff, the wood-smoked meat was rich with flavor, the cornbread and mac cheese were outstanding, the sauces were UNBELIEVABLE. We even bought the spicy honey and garlic jalapeno sauces to take home. That garlic jalapeno is the best sauce I 've ever had for BBQ. You 'll probably dig the 'opry '-style setting as well. I couldn 't recommend this place more.

I crave this food when I'm not in town. We live 2.5 hrs away and come every few months to eat and catch a show. Amazing food! Hot. Fresh. Lip-smackin'! I love the entire joint. From top to bottom. Thanks y'all! Can't wait to see you again!!! (We just attended to a show Sept 11th 2020 under covid. All employees wore masks. Customers wore masks inside to sit. There was a limit on the capacity. They were really clean. Every thing was very smooth and we had a perfect time!!

As someone who considers himself a wing connoisseur, I think Wildwood has the best wings in town hands down. I recommend getting them with the bleu cheese.
