We have eaten at this fabulous restaurant on many occasions, and all I can say is this is just a gift that keeps on giving… Our latest visit was a Wednesday lunchtime, the restaurant was busy but it didn’t affect our experience, it was perfect in fact! We opted out for a beetroot starter to share, this was the prettiest plate of food I have ever seen in my life! For mains we had the duck and pork belly. Both were beautifully presented, flavoursome and cooked to perfection! Service was friendly and efficient, as always! The owner is very knowledgeable and passionate. And the young lady who served us (I think she said her name was Vlada) was very attentive, helpful and chatty! Thank you, Bistro On The Quay! We can not wait to visit again VERY soon!
Almost never give 5 stars but food was excellent I think a bit expensive for Suffolk but I would go back Dog friendly OK location
This place has a lovely atmosphere and friendly service. However, the food was mediocre. The portions seemed quite mean the hake dish had a small portion of fish, it was accompanied by crushed potatoes, samphire, sliced fennel and braised chicory. Most of the dish was potatoes, there was hardly any samphire, the chicory was nice and the fennel added a nice texture. It did seem, though, that they were bulking out with potatoes and cutting the more expensive ingredients down to tiny portions. I would rather pay a bit more and have a property balanced meal than fill up on potatoes. It was also not hot when it arrived.
Excellent food, great service a tranquil location. The menu was interesting the food was delicious looked great. Would highly recommend.
