Bucanero - Iquitos

Our tour operator drove us here when we asked for a lunch. We enjoyed the view and went with a sample plate of a variety of meat, alligator, fish etc. We couldn't say what was, but enjoyed our meal. They brought us some Charipita-Pfeffer and WATCH OUT, the waiter said they weren't too hot, but they're pretty sharp. The lime juice we ordered practically came to cool my mouth! It's a bit expensive, but a good stop if you're looking for a nice place to eat.

This is a great place to eat Ceviche and view outside the Amazon River from the comfort of an air-conditioned room with large windows. They start with some excellent corn snacks, and the fruit drinks (we had passion fruit and lemonade) are refreshing. But then there is the keviche, with fresh and fat pieces of fish. Wonderful.

This is the perfect place o sit and watch the busy people along the Amazon River. Good food, good service, air conditioning and what a look!!!

It is an OK restaurant with a lot to choose from, including fish. Nevertheless I would not say that it fully justifies their prices. You get a feeling that there is some pretension to be a top-end restaurant but food and service still need to be improved. Good view of the river.
