Surgical fish, calams, manioc and plantain. Wife had Amazon samples of smoked pork, genes in, chorizo and Plantain. She had the guinea pig, tapioca root and rice, which was plentiful and wonderfully flabor. I had roasted the Venison and potatoes and Verizon Gravy. It was so much I never finished and was more than delicious
The restaurate is beautiful, comfortable, air-conditined. Eating is also good, although I should say is for a gourmet experience. It is not expected a lot of food in a plate, and price could be higher than other restaurants in Iquitos, but if you want to pamper yourself for a lunch or dinner, this could be a good option.
Make sure they try to overload you. That's why I wouldn't eat there if there were many other options. Food products
I ordered Tacacho con Cecina, the regional dish here that is served in almost all of the restaurants in Iquitos. Their version was beautifully presented but both the Cecina and Tacacho were incredibly dry and tough. The aji sauce was good though. I've had this dish a couple of times in other places and this is by far the worst. The dish was also pricey. I had planned to go to a more local place but it turns out it's closed on Sunday.
We ate here for a relatively early dinner in April. We were the only ones in the restaurant and it was HUGE- I'm not sure how they fill the place up. It was slightly awkward being the only ones in the restaurant, but the server was friendly (if a bit overwhelmed with the menu) Building is a bit worn but nice enough for Iquitos. I had the chicken noodle soup because I wasn't feeling well and it was pretty good. Might go again.
