I visited last night for a pre-class reunion gathering. Despite the restaurant being quite crowded, the bartenders handled everything wonderfully, and the pizza was outstanding! A big shout-out to the bartenders and to Maureen for crafting such fantastic pizza! Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5. I highly recommend the pizzas, porketta, and Italian sausage boat!

Along with the pizza, I ordered a hot beef sandwich. When I think of a hot beef sandwich, I envision something delicious with a flavorful au jus, which is what I'm used to back home. Unfortunately, what I got was a dry, tasteless beef sandwich that was reminiscent of shoe leather. Perhaps it was just a bad night for the kitchen—after all, things can happen—but we arrived at 6:45 PM, so we weren't ordering at the very end of service. I might consider coming back for a drink and some popcorn, but I definitely won't be trying the pizza or the hot beef sandwich again.

This tavern, inspired by Spartan themes, has a charming mini statue of Tom Izzo that I love as an MSU alumnus. My husband ordered the Bobby Joe but mistakenly received the Porketta. Unfortunately, the Porketta was a bit dry and could have benefited from some sauce. The cabernet wine was quite good, even though it wasn’t produced on-site. Overall, the food was satisfactory, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
