Coco Ichibanya - Irvine

Fantastic! The restaurant stays true to the original Japanese recipe. While some unique elements from Japanese menus, like dried garlic flakes, are missing, and the cheese isn't quite the traditional Japanese style, it still comes very close. The vegetables were prepared perfectly, just like I'd hoped. I was thrilled to dine here and will definitely return every time I'm in Orange County!

I’ve been searching for a good place to enjoy Japanese curry since Curry House closed over two years ago, and I think I've found a pretty decent spot. Unfortunately, they had run out of menchi katsu, which is a favorite of both my son and me. Regardless, we tried the keema curry, chicken katsu omelette, pork katsu omelette, an omelet with dumplings, and naan with keema curry. Everything was tasty, and the naan stood out as the best I’ve ever had. The dumplings were also incredibly delicious. I do wish they would offer Tabasco sauce on the table like Curry House did, as it complemented Japanese curry really well. The watermelon juice was just okay, while the Thai iced tea was quite good. One downside was that they didn’t have curry pan on the menu.

The restaurant is always bustling with activity. The curry is flavorful, and this time I ordered the ****, but it turned out to be quite tough. I probably should have opted for the chicken instead. Also, I think the children’s meals are best suited for kids aged 8 and under, as they are small enough for younger children to enjoy.

I've heard so many good things about this place, nobody's right! This is the most delicious food I had in a while. Restaurant is very clean and staff are very friendly and efficient! I fell in love with this place that I will be sad to leave CA because they don't have this chain home!

Good quality curry, however long wait over the weekends. The chicken cutlet with omelette is pretty savory, I also tried the vegetable croquettes. But the chicken cutlet is better haha
