Fukada - Irvine

If you're considering trying this place, go for it! They offer a fantastic selection of Japanese dishes and sushi rolls without being overwhelming. The curry is absolutely amazing, and their soba dishes are just as delicious. You'll have a tough time deciding what to order since everything sounds tempting. The meals come well-packaged for takeout and are ready to grab, but you can also sit at any available table (they have plenty of seating with quick turnover) if you prefer to eat there. Just keep in mind that there is no table service. The staff who take your orders are always friendly and prompt. I really believe they prepare the food quickly because I seldom wait long for my order.

The restaurant is primarily set up for takeout, and there isn’t enough staff for a traditional sit-down experience. However, if you want to dine in, you'll need to find the first available table. Since we visited on a rainy day, the indoor seating was limited for lunch. We received our food in under 15 minutes, which was impressive. I really appreciate their lunch and dinner combos, which are offered at reasonable prices. We chose the hot udon noodles and curry noodles, along with seafood salad, katsu don, and spicy tuna with rice as our second combo option. Everything was delicious, and the broth was flavorful. The kids loved it too. If you’re in the area and looking for something simple, fresh, and quick, this is definitely the place to go.

First of all, this place is more expensive than most noodle restaurants. I was taken aback by the prices, considering it has a fast food atmosphere. There isn't much in terms of service, and it feels more like a food court. We ordered the tempura udon and soba (one of each), but neither was particularly special. I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon.

This place has been a staple of Japanese food for years. The staff is super friendly and courteous. Frankly, it's one of the best Japanese places in Irvine.

Words cannot describe my love for this place. Their food is amazing cheap! I would get their spicy tuna combo with udon and it literally can feed 2 people for $15! Their food is always so delicious and homely. Although, there's always a wait, but it's so worth it. Also, they don't do fine in but you can use their tables, so it's not so bad. It could get difficult to find a table/seat but you just need to wait around.
