This place is a true hidden gem. A ton of healthy, fresh options available. However, I'm here for the musubi. It is so delicious. I recommend the original spam, but the sausage is also quite flavorful. The staff are super helpful and offer recommendations based on your tastes if you are not familiar with the dishes. Prices are also very reasonable. Overall, a must visit.Kid-friendliness: A lot of kid friendly options including chicken katsu.
Decent food but the establishment is in a scarcity mindset (aka cheap). No to go cups with lids and ice even if you buy a can of juice. I hope they can work on manifesting abundance going forward, or at least good customer service
The food is fresh but overall their cooking style results in quite tarty flavor profiles. The Mahi Mahi itself was fine but the pineapple salsa on top was not sweet as I anticipate but was rather tarty and contrasted with the seasoning on the fish. The coleslaw had a nice variety of ingredients in it but again was somewhat tarty. The macaroni salad lacked seasoning.Nevertheless they have a squeeze bottle of teriyaki sauce at the counter that you can pour onto your dish to kick it up a notch.I still give it 4 stars because they use fresh ingredients and they have many more things to choose from on their menu. I just have to find what I like. Next time I'll try Tutu's Bento which is a combination of a lot of different things.
When we got home, we unpacked everything and began sampling the food. The mahi mahi was extremely flat, dark, and tasted terrible a complete waste of money. Tossed to the trash. The edamame were not fresh; they were a dark dull green that had not been seasoned. The salmon was tasty, but the chicken katsu contained some dark chicken that was dry, bland, and fried to a crisp. The macaroni salad is NOT Hawaiian it was bland like eating paper. We are not planning on returning because the food quality was subpar. I'm wondering where the owner and quality control are. This is NOT Hawaiian food.
